Los indigenas en la insurrección de Huanuco en 1812
Małgorzata Grabowska

Abstract/short description:

In the beginning of the 19th century the traditional authority of the Spanish monarchy was decreased as a result of a series of historic events. This led to processes of struggle for independence in Spanish colonies. This process in Peru is regarded to have encountered much bigger opposition by the pro-Spanish forces than in other colonies. This may be due to Peruvian anti-indigenous sentiments. One of the most important manifestations of this struggle for independence was the uprising in the Huánuco province. The article describes this uprising and analyzes its ethnic background.

Pablo A. Pozzi

The NRP regarded itself as a means for economic improvement; this however did not fully convince the working class. Workers' movement organizations followed immediately the creation of NRP and organized struggle against the new junta. Despite violent repression such as forced disappearances the working class organized strikes and other means of opposing the military leadership.

El pensamiento filosófico y social latinoamericano desde perspectiva europea oriental
Eugeniusz Górski

Abstract/ short description

The article presents an overview of philosophical developments in Latin America. Its aim is to relate the Latin American philosophical thought to its Polish equivalents. For example: the emergence of the so-called Liberation Theology in the beginning was greatly contested by Polish Catholic philosophers. Later they became less critical as they started to compare Liberation theology to the ideas of 19th Century Catholic clergy that opposed the partition of Poland. Despite this and many other influences Górski concludes that relations between eastern European and Latin American philosophical thoughts were limited.

Sobre la exposición de algunos problemas de la historia no sólo de America
Moisej S. Alperovic

Abstract/ short description

The article brings up the universal idea that interpretations of historical events change in the course of history. The examples presented here are related to Latin American and Soviet history. One of such examples is the Marxists reading of the the important historic figure Simon Bolivar. In the original writings of Karl Marx, Bolivar was regarded as a Bonaparte-like despot. Later Marxists revised this critical portrayal claiming that Marx was badly informed, and Bolivar's anti-colonialism can be understood as compatible with the principles of Marxism.
