    Antoni Macierewicz (Varsovia)

Abstract/description:

The article describes the history of interactions between the social structures of the freshly conquered Inca realm and the Spanish-designed structures brought on by the colonization of the New World. The article mentions the replacement of top sovereigns and elites of the Inca empire by Spaniards. In the beginning, the pace of changes within the lower and local social classes was very slow. Intentos de establecer relaciones diplomáticas entre Colombia y Marruecos en los años 1825 -1827

    Andrzej Dziubiński (Varsovia)

Abstract/description:

Morocco has a long history of relations with the American states. Diplomatic relations with independent governments were preceded by a number of trade links. After the first wave of revolutions against Spanish colonial dependency the freshly formed states of South America participated in interesting events, which relate with their occasional maritime presence in the ports of Morocco. This had started with the 1821 arrival of the Venezuelan ship "Nuevo Congreso" in Tangier.
Dziubiński gives accounts of different occasions on which Columbian ships visited Moroccan ports. Their presence included attempts to establish diplomatic relations with the Moroccan government. Dziubiński judges this presence as diversion aimed at Morocco's neighbor and former Columbian sovereign, the Kingdom of Spain.

Cuba en la conferencia de Montevideo

    Marcin Kula (Varsovia)

Abstract/description:

The Seventh Pan-American Conference in Montevideo (VII Conferencia Panamericana de Montevideo) held in December of 1933 was the first manifestation of new a political line of the Cuban government led by Grau San Martín. The Conference took place just a few months after the Revolution of 1933 which overthrew Gerardo Machado's dictatorship. The previous Pan-American conference was held in Havana and not all Latin American countries recognized the previous Cuban government. Similarly, the new Cuban government was not fully acknowledged at the time. Another important dimension of international politics lied in the complex and tense relations with the United States.
